This training acts as a guide for Gram Panchayats, Water Resource Committees, and other concerned authorities. Through this training, villagers learn how water will be supplied under the Jal Jeevan Mission, how water structures will be maintained, and what measures will be taken for effective water management.
In addition, the training provides guidance on how to protect water sources, conserve water, and ensure its equitable distribution — responsibilities that lie with the villagers themselves. Thus, the training under the Jal Jeevan Mission not only provides technical knowledge but also raises awareness among villagers about the importance of water and its conservation, contributing significantly to resolving the water crisis.
What We Do
Hope for Human Society, a leading non-governmental organization, is working in 115 villages of Uttarakhand’s hilly regions under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure the availability of clean and safe drinking water in rural areas. Under this mission, the organization has provided water connections to 14,893 families, benefiting more than 67,000 people with access to safe drinking water.
Water scarcity has long been a serious problem in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand. However, through this mission, the organization has made remarkable improvements in the water supply situation in these areas. The provision of water connections has not only made water easily accessible but also improved public health. Now, the residents of these villages use clean and safe drinking water, significantly reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.
This initiative aligns with the core objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission, which is committed to providing clean drinking water to every household. The efforts of Hope for Human Society have not only improved the standard of living in these villages but also enhanced community awareness about water conservation and hygiene, thereby contributing to sustainable rural development.
